Home Page Editor
Create a New Home Page
Suppose you want a unique home page that is unlike any existing home pages. In this case, you do not want to build your home page by copying an existing one, but you want to create one from scratch. The system automatically assigns this home page to your role; that is, it assigns the home page to the role of the user who is creating the new page.
Procedure
- From System / Add-in Manager / Manage Home Pages and Processes task, select the Add New Page button, located in the upper right corner.
- The Home Page Editor presents the New Home Page Process Details form.
- Complete the New Home Page Process Details form to create an empty home page:
Field | Explanation |
---|---|
Home Page Process | Enter the value by which you want to identify this home page in the afm_processes table. The system creates a record that has the value "Web Page Navigator Process" for the Process Type field. |
Title | This title displays on the home page's tab and in the list of home pages in the user profile menu. |
Descriptor File | Enter the name of the xml file to which you want the home page definition information saved. The system will create the file in \schema\ab-products\common\views\page-navigation\descriptors. See Home Page Descriptor Files. |
Display Order | Sets the order (from top to bottom) of the home page list in the user profile menu. The home page with the lowest Display Order value displays when you start Archibus. |
Active | Determines whether the system lists this home page in the user profile menu. |
License Level | Sets the license level for this home page. See Licensing Levels. |
- Process the form and the system presents an empty home page.
- Add rows and panels to the home page. See Create and Format Rows and Create and Edit Panels.
- When satisfied with the content, use the Publish action to save the home page descriptor file and publish the page. The system publishes the home page to your role by creating the xml descriptor file and a record in the
afm_processes
table. - Your user profile menu will now include the new home page in the list of available home pages. Load the home page to review it. Make adjustments if required by loading the Home Page Editor from the Manage Home Pages and Processes task.
