Archibus Extensions for BUILDER™ SMS

Review Imported Background Data

Background data can help you map or transfer terminology and categories from BUILDER™ SMS to the Archibus environment.

When you edit buildings, sites, and equipment in Archibus, the Archibus views present fields that validate on the tables described in this topic. By importing this data from BUILDER™ SMS to Archibus with the background data connector, you will have these values available to choose from when working with these fields.

For example, if you have a license for the Extensions for BUILDER^TM SMS, the Assets / Enterprise Assets / Background Data - Facilities, Finance, & Project / Define Locations view presents the Building Uses Validated field . In Archibus, you can complete this field with a BUILDER™ SMS building use by choosing it from the validating bl_use_val (Building Use Validated) table. You can check the values for this table using the View Building Uses task, described below. You can also edit this information using the Assets / Enterprise Assets / Extensions for BUILDER SMS / View and Edit Sites, Complexes and Buildings view.

After you run the background data master connector, check the imported data by running these tasks, located on the Navigator at Assets / Enterprise Assets / Extensions for BUILDER SMS.:

If you have recently imported data from BUILDER™ SMS into Archibus, click Refresh in the left pane.

View Campuses

Open Assets / Enterprise Assets / Assets / Enterprise Assets / Extensions for BUILDER SMS / View Campuses (ab-campus-rep.axvw) to view campuses from your BUILDER™ SMS inventory. Select a campus on the left to view imported data for that campus.

View Construction Types

Open Assets / Enterprise Assets / Extensions for SMS Builder / View Construction Types (ab-construction-types-val-rep.axvw) to view construction types related to your BUILDER™ SMS inventory. Select a construction type in the list on the left to view imported data for the selected type.

The view presents the construction_types_val (Construction Types Validated) table.

View Building Uses

Open Assets / Enterprise Assets / Extensions for SMS Builder / View Building Uses (ab-bl-use-val-rep.axvw) to view building uses related to your BUILDER™ SMS inventory. Select a building use in the list on the left to view imported data for the selected use.

The view presents the bl_use_val (Building Use Validated) table.

View Classification Standards

Open Assets / Enterprise Assets / Extensions for BUILDER SMS / View Classification Standards (ab-csistd-rep.axvw) to view classification standards related to your BUILDER™ SMS inventory. The list contains an abbreviated name for each standard, along with descriptive information in the right-hand column.

In addition to supporting BUILDER™ SMS, this table (csistd) is used in other parts of Archibus. For information on this table, see Define Classification Standards and Classifications.

View Builder Component Types

Open Assets / Enterprise Assets / Extensions for BUILDER SMS / View Builder Component Types (ab-builder-comp-type-rep.axvw) to view component types related to your BUILDER™ SMS inventory. The list contains a brief code for each BUILDER™ SMS component type, along with descriptive information in the right-hand column.

The view presents the builder_component_type (Builder Component Types) table.
