Adding Unavailable Space

To mark all or part of a floor as unavailable, you can create an unavailable space record.

Designating space as unavailable is useful when space is temporarily unavailable, as it would be during a renovation.

You can also mark space as unavailable to hide floors or leased suites from a scenario. For example, if a lease should not be renewed in one of your scenarios, create an Unavailable Space record for the time period covering the lease.

Adding Unavailable Space

To add unavailable space:

  1. From either the Stack Chart or the Allocation Events tab:

    Select Add > Unavailable Space.

The Edit Unavailable Space form appears.

  2. Enter the following information:

The building and the floor that has the unavailable space.

The dates when the space will be unavailable.

  3. Enter the area in either of the following ways:
    • Enter the area in the Manual Area field.
    • Enter the % of Floor that is unavailable, and click Calculate to have the system calculate and enter the Manual Area for you. The system calculates the unavailable area's Manual Area from either the floor's Usable or Manual area fields. The floor's Usable area is used if it exists; otherwise, the floor's Manual Area is used.

  4. Click Save.

Unavailable space is shown in the Allocation Events tab under Unavailable Space.

Deleting Unavailable Space

To remove unavailable space from the scenario:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • From the Allocation Events tab, select the location that has the unavailable space in the Events by Locations tab, and then click the unavailable space allocation
    • From the Stack Chart, in the Events by Date tab, expand the dates to see the unavailable space.

The Edit Unavailable Space form appears.

  2. Click Delete to remove the space as unavailable.
