What is Archibus?
Archibus Applications
Applications focus on a particular facet of facilities management, such as preventive maintenance, space inventory, occupancy, equipment inventory, space chargeback, capital budgeting, condition assessment, and so on. An application typically includes a set of reports, data entry forms, metrics, workflow rules, parameters, calculations, business logic, and analyses that focus on a particular facility management business result. For instance, a site can implement the Space Chargeback application to automate internal billing to departments for their space usage, and thereby improve accountability for space usage.
In addition to processes and tasks, applications can have:
- Metrics and alerts available on role-based home pages.
- Corresponding mobile apps. For example, surveyors in the field use the Space & Occupancy Survey mobile app to survey space for use with the Space Inventory and Occupancy applications. .
Applications are grouped into domains, such as the Space Inventory applications of the Space domain. An application divides its major issues into a series of processes (or roles), which, in turn, are composed of tasks.
The Sidebar navigator presents applications grouped by domain. Clicking on a domain, such as Space, shows the Space applications. Clicking on an application, such as Space Inventory, presents the processes for developing and maintaining a space inventory. Each process is composed of data development and calculation tasks, which users work through to produce a series of reports that answer fundamental questions about your space inventory.
Note: In the Archibus SaaS offering, applications -- and in some cases entire domains -- are packaged as modules. You access modules from the root level of the Navigator. The Navigator in Archibus SaaS does not group modules into domains unless you have more than 13 modules.
The Applications home page is convenient when you want to see all applications in one view. Each Domain panel lists the domain's applications. Click on an application to drill into its processes and tasks.
