Reference documents are documents stored in the Assigned Documents table (docs_assigned
table) that are associated with an equipment or furniture standard, a building use, property type, PM procedure, work request problem type, action item Action Type, or project Project Type.
When you associate a reference document with one of these items, whenever a user adds items of this type, the document is also added. For example, if you associate a document that provides the steps for cleaning an air filter with the PM procedure for cleaning air filters, this document is available for all work requests that use this PM procedure.
Reference documents can be viewed from views such as:

the Project Proposal Console's Project Dashboard (for documents associated with Proposed projects, equipment standards, or action types)

the Search & Manage Work Request task or the Work Request form for documents associated with PM procedures or problem types

the References tab of Maintenance Console's Work Request form
Reference documents are not shown in the Document Library.
You associate reference documents with items using the Define Equipment or Manage Reference Documents tasks.
