CAD User: Overview
As a CAD specialist, you may be tasked with depicting in CAD drawings or Revit the various areas of your facility. You use these tasks to develop a site plans and floor plans:
- Draw Buildings on a Site Plan
- Draw Gross Area
- Draw Vertical Penetration Area
- Draw Service Area
- Draw Groups (for suites and departmental groups)
- Draw Rooms
- Develop Floor Plans for Use with Team Space
You depict a floor area in a CAD drawing with a polyline, and then assign this polyline intelligence, which connects it to a database record. An intelligent polyline linked to a database record is known as an asset symbol. For information, see Asset Symbols: Overview.
