Prepare Model for the Display in the BIM Viewer (V.2022.02 Demo)
Note: Before visualizing a model in the Archibus BIM Viewer or in any of the Technologies / Innovative Solutions / Forge Integration example views, you must enable hardware acceleration for your web browser; this improves the speed at which models load. In some organizations, your IT department might mange this setting for you; thus, if you cannot enable it yourself, please contact your IT department.
For Archibus V.2022.02, the BIM Viewer is for demonstration purposes and connects only to the Archibus Autodesk account. Customer-facing onboarding will be available in V.2022.03.
If you are doing demonstrations and using one of our servers, you can use the SmartClient Extension for Revit to publish a new model; the model will be published to our Autodesk account, and the model will be visible for all demonstration environments.
Procedure for V.2022.02 Demonstration
Follow this process to try or demonstrate the BIM Viewer in V.2022.02.
Step 1: Set up the demo server.
These demonstration servers automatically connect to the Archibus Forge account.,
You have two choices:
-
Use one of the existing, Archibus-managed, shared SaaS demonstration servers. If you load your models and data to the Archibus servers, other users will see your models and data.
-
Set up your own demonstration server using Archibus V.2022.02 and the V.2022.02 HQ sample database. You will need trial licenses for the Archibus products.
Step 2: On board a new demo model (as needed)
This requires that you have Autodesk Revit V2022 and Archibus Smart Client Extension for Revit V.2022.02.
You will be able to see the model only on the Archibus demonstration server.
Choose from the following:
-
Use existing Archibus sample models from the HQ sample project (building NB).
-
Catalog and Publish to 3D your own light model.
-
The Publish to 3D command uploads your file to Forge in SVF format.
-
There is no need to do a separate upload.
-
Step 3: Work with the Model with the BIM Viewer
To use the BIM Viewer, you must have:
-
Archibus Digital Twins License
-
License for Assets or Enterprise Assets application or Assets SaaS module
-- or --License for Corrective Maintenance application or Maintenance SaaS module
Run the BIM Viewer from one of these Navigator tasks:
-
Archibus SaaS / Maintenance / Corrective Maintenance / BIM Viewer
-

-
Maintenance / Corrective Maintenance / Supervisor / BIM Viewer
-
