Reviewing Locations and their Materials

While in the field, safety managers, facility managers, and general staff members want details about the hazardous products they might encounter in day-to-day work. These users need to access materials information and their corresponding SDS documents in order to take necessary precautions.

With Review mode of the Hazardous Materials mobile app, these users have access to the materials and their corresponding SDSs directly from their smart phones. They can review key safety data without inadvertently making edits to existing data.

Prerequisite: Facility managers prepare data for download

Before staff can get started reviewing materials data, the facility manager must prepare the background data, develop the SDS information, and perform other tasks. For information, see Hazardous Materials Mobile App: Facility Manager Tasks.

Step 1: Drill down to buildings, floors, rooms, or sub-rooms

On the mobile device, select a site. The system downloads all the background data, as well as the existing material inventory data for that site.

From sites, you can drill down to various location levels and then access the Materials Dashboard, which shows the materials for that level. For information, see Drilling Down to the Materials Dashboard.

Step 2: Review the Materials Dashboard and look up a specific material
