Waste: Application Overview
Waste management pertains to legal and safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials that usually are the result of business operations at a site. The primary concern with respect to hazardous waste is to automate an auditable process in compliance with regulations.
From initial point of generation to temporary accumulation, on-site storage, and final shipment or discharge, Archibus provides an information framework to enable accurate and efficient tracking and reporting on location, quantity, and types of wastes at any point in the process.
With the Waste application, you can:
- Enter data once and re-use it.
- Speed creation of official reporting documents and reduce typing errors.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulations around timing, quantity, and transfer of responsibility.
- Define any number of waste categories and profiles and track quantities of solid, liquid, or gaseous waste in any system of units.
Typical Workflow to Manage Waste
To manage your waste using the application, you do the following:
- Define background data about your facility.
- Define background data about your waste practices.
- Track your waste shipment or discharge. For either of these options, you can optionally first track storage and accumulation of waste.
- Generate waste
- Accumulate waste in a temporary location.
- Store waste on site.
