Scoring Rating Projects: Overview
The Green Building application supports pre-installed and user-configured scoring how your building meets or re-qualifies for environmental certification standards. You can:
- self-score against target environmental sustainability certification requirements to assess eligibility.
- store official certification scores and use this as a starting point for the requalification process.
- calculate projected payback periods for sustainability efforts to decide on the most strategic investments.
- store and analyze data for what-if scenarios and determine the scenario to implement
- score your building for purposes that do not relate to certification, such as for an Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) project.
Procedure:
- A business process owner enters basic information about the geographic and building locations.
- Enter the certification standard and its details. This entails:
- entering basic information about the certification standard.
- entering the award levels offered by the certification (such as Acceptable, Good, Outstanding).
- entering the broad categories of the criteria against which a building is assessed.
- entering the individual criteria (or credits) against which a building is assessed. This may involve entering prerequisite credits and subcredits.
- Define a rating project for storing your evaluation data.
- Carefully evaluate how your building meets the criteria of the certification standard. The more honestly and thoroughly you make this evaluation, the closer your self-score will match the actual scores issued by the organization overseeing the certification standard.
- Enter your self-scores into the system and calculate your point total. You can optionally do the following:
- upload documents to support your self-scores
- enter notes about your self-scores
- for each credit, enter the estimated cost of making improvements, and the estimated yearly savings that you will achieve for meeting this mandate
- Analyze the results of your self-score. Do you qualify for certification? At which level? Perhaps you can make some simple improvements that will raise your score and qualify you for a higher level of certification.
- Submit your application. You can update your rating project to reflect this stage in the process.
- When the organization reviews your application and returns your official scores, you can:
- enter the official scores into the system.
- update the rating project with your certification status and new certification level.
- upload documents about the application and official results.
- enter notes about the application and official results.
- When it comes time to apply for certification renewal, create a new rating project with the new analysis period and certification level goal. You can then enter your new scores and run the comparison reports to compare projects to see the certification level changes over time.
- Analyze your certification scoring efforts with operational reports and management reports and dashboards.
