Deleted Buildings Footprints by Building
The Deleted Buildings Footprint by Building report provides an overview of emissions by calculation year, and footprint scenario by buildings that have been deleted, and for which you have entered footprint data. It includes totals emissions for all scopes for each deleted building, and total for all deleted buildings included in the report.
Deleted buildings are buildings for which you at one point defined carbon footprint data, and then deleted that building's record from the Buildings table, perhaps because you no longer own or manage the building. Best practices for Real Property are to tag buildings as Disposed (if owned), or Leased Inactive (if leased), rather than deleting the building. However, if you do delete building records, the application does not delete the carbon footprint information entered for the building. This data remains in the database, and you can access footprint data for deleted buildings in the Deleted Buildings Footprints by Building report.
The Footprint by Building and Site report does not provide a means to retrieve data for deleted buildings, so the Deleted Building Footprint Summary report provides that access. Use this report when you need a high level overview for buildings that you managed or owned in the past, and which you deleted from the Buildings table.
Filtering the Report
It is not required that you set a filter for this report. By clicking Show, you can generate the report for all your deleted buildings, calculation years, and footprint scenarios.
When selecting from the Filter console be aware that certain selections you make affect the data that is available for subsequent selections. For example, when you select a Calculation Year, the Building field is restricted to show only the locations that have footprint data calculated for the selected year. This ensures that you make only selections for which data is available.
If you want to restrict the data, you can restrict by:
- Building: This selection list enables you to select multiple deleted buildings. See Selecting Multiple Values from Select Value Lists.
- Calculation Year and Scenario Code: You can filter the report to include specific calculation years and footprint scenarios. You can select a single or multiple selections for each of these, if they exist for deleted buildings.
- Totals Per Area: The Filter console includes the Totals Per Area check box that enables you to view Total Emissions divided by the gross area of the building e. This enables you to compare emissions for different locations by adjusting for the location's size. The calculation uses the Ext. Gross Area entered for the building on the Building Footprint Details tab of the Enter Building Footprint Data task. By default, this check box is not selected, so that the application shows Total Emissions for each building.
Reviewing Building Emissions
When you generate the Deleted Buildings Footprint by Building report, the report presents the following buildings emissions:
- Total Emissions
- Total Emissions (excluding Scope 3)
- Total for Each Scope (Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3, and Other Emissions)
