Sustainability & Risk / Green Building
Green Building: Application Overview
The Green Building application consists of two independent processes:
- scoring the environmental impact of a building
- determining your carbon footprint.
You can choose to implement one or both of these processes.
Scoring
The Green Building application supports pre-installed and user-configured scoring on how your building meets environmental sustainability certification or re-qualification. You can:
- self-score against target environmental sustainability certification level requirements to assess eligibility and assess progress.
- store official certification scores and use this as a starting point for the requalification process.
- calculate projected payback periods for sustainability efforts to decide on the most strategic investments.

Carbon Footprint
For organizations that wish to reduce their carbon footprint, the Green Building application provides a web-based, intuitive interface to specify protocols, calculate net greenhouse gas equivalent impact for buildings, and report on carbon footprint change over time for their facility portfolio.
The carbon footprint tasks in Archibus Green Building follow the framework documented by the World Resources Institute/World Business Council for Sustainable Development's (WRI/WBCSD) GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. The built-in unit conversion process allows users to configure conversion values and enter data in any units desired.
This application can assist offices in making decisions on how to reduce the GHG emissions associated with their practices and can be modified as needed for formal GHG inventory reporting.
