Sustainability & Risk / Waste/ Facilities - Background Data

Defining Background Data about your Facility

The business process owner needs to develop the following background data about your facility. If your site uses other Archibus applications, you may find that you have already created this data.

To develop background data about your facility, run these tasks of the Sustainability & Risk / Waste/ Facilities - Background Data process.

Task Description
Define Geographic Locations Enter basic data about locations, such as countries, states, and cities.
Define Properties If you are using the applications of the Real Property domain, you may have already developed properties (land or structure with associated buildings, costs, parcels, taxes, and assets). If so, you can associate waste with these properties. If you have not yet defined properties, you can do so with this task. However, it is not essential that you develop properties; you can also associate waste management with your sites.
Define Locations (Sites, Buildings, Floors) You are required to define sites to track waste generation, accumulation, storage and discharge. Optionally, you can further discriminate the assignment down to the building, floor, or room level.
Define Employees If you wish to associate waste with a particular employee, such as the employee responsible for managing this waste or the employee who monitors the machine that generated the waste, you will need to first define these employees in the Employees table.
Define Contacts You may wish to enter the person at the EPA or other regulatory agency who is responsible for generating the registration code or licenses number for you to be a certified waste generator. You can then choose this person when defining waste generators. See Defining Background Data about your Waste Practices.
Define Vendors Be sure to enter the vendors that manage your waste treatment, disposal, and recycling, such as the waste processing facilities you use.
