Archibus application

The set of major items of work that need to be executed to accomplish a specific goal of a domain. For example, "Space Chargeback" is an application whose goal is to proportionately distribute costs based on the proportion of area that a department occupies. To achieve this goal, you execute a set of tasks (which are grouped into process or roles) such as defining cost per area, designating common areas, viewing exception reports, updating area totals, running chargeback calculations, and viewing detailed chargeback analysis reports.

In the non-SaaS offering, the Navigator groups related applications into domains. From a domain, you drill down to applications and then to an application's component processes and tasks. For example, Space Chargeback is an application in the Space domain.

In the Archibus SaaS offering, applications are packaged as SaaS modules.

You primarily work with applications using Archibus Web Central; however, some aspects of application work can be run from the Archibus Smart Client or from the Archibus Smart Client Extensions for AutoCAD and Revit. Accordingly, these tools also offer the Navigator for presenting an application and its processes and tasks.
