Hazardous Materials mobile app

Hazardous Materials Mobile App: Overview

While in the field, off-site, or in other situations in which they do not have a laptop connected to the Archibus database, facility managers, safety officers, and others involved with facility safety may need to access information about the chemical substances and materials located in the facility and each material's associated SDS document. Knowing the locations of materials on site, the quantity at each location, and basic information from the SDS document for this material is vital for ensuring the safety of employees. Should an emergency occur, safety managers and emergency response personnel need to know what materials are located in the affected area, if they present potential danger to staff, and what precautions must be taken.

The Archibus Hazardous Materials mobile app enables users, directly from their smart phones, to access key information about their site's materials. They can view the material locations on a floor plan drawing and access key safety-related information for each material, as well as key information from the item's SDS. The ability to access this data directly from a smart phone is a key benefit to a safety manager who is often on the move, especially in the event of an emergency. Additionally, users with privileges can use the app to update material records and field auditors can survey the facility, note the quantities of materials at each location, and update the inventory with the field results.

Note: The Hazardous Materials mobile app works in conjunction with the Hazardous Materials application. Your site should have a license for this Web Central application in order to use Hazardous Materials mobile app in the field.
