layout scenario drawing
A floor plan or partial floor plan that has a trial layer for experimenting with different configurations and assignments of the space. Layout scenario drawings enable move scenario planners to experiment with different space configurations on new, unapproved floor layouts without affecting the official inventory.
The trial layer contains a copy of the official Room inventory layer (RM$ layer) which a CAD operator can reconfigure to experiment with different layouts and assignments of the space. The trial layer is connected to the Room Trials table, so that any changes are recorded in the database.
Once a layout scenario is agreed upon, a CAD operator can merge the layout scenario drawing with the official inventory drawing.
Layout scenario drawings are stored in the Archibus Drawings table (afm_dwgs
) as scenarios.
Experimentation is always done on the trial layer of the layout scenario drawing, but the layout scenario drawing can come from several sources:
- the official inventory drawing
- a new copy of the official inventory drawing
- a partial view of the official inventory drawing
- a partial view of a new copy of the official inventory drawing
