group move
Moving several items at one time, such as moving an entire department to a new building.
Group moves are convenient for moving items from or to the same location, or items that must be moved in the same time frame.
A group move can move any combination of the following individual moves:
- employees (and optionally the furniture and equipment assigned to them)
- assets (items not tracked in the Tagged Furniture and Equipment tables, such as a painting)
- equipment items
- teams
- rooms (and optionally the furniture and equipment assigned to them)
When you request a group move, you actually create a group move project. The project defines the overall group move, and it contains individual move orders for all the items that are moving. The link is mo.project_id = project.project_id.
The individual items to move (equipment items, assets, employees, etc) are stored in the Move Orders table as individual move orders. These are assigned to the group move project.
Group moves of employees and teams can additionally have move scenarios for experimenting with different configurations of space and employees in order to plan the destinations to which employees and teams will be moving.
