Entering Incident Location Information

Recording the location of an incident is extremely important for researching the root cause of the mishap and taking corrective action to ensure that further problems do not occur.

To enter location information:

  1. Run the Track Incidents task and move to the Site Information tab.
  2. Complete as many of the site-related fields as possible. If the incident occurred outside, and not within a specific building, complete the property or site fields.
  1. If the location information is the same as the affected employee or the person reporting the problem (the Reported By field on the Incident Details tab), use the buttons in the upper right corner and the system will automatically complete the location fields with the location of these employees.
  2. To save your location data, return to the Incident Details tab and choose Save.
  3. You may wish to enter the exact location of the incident on a floor plan drawing. To do so, return to the Incident Details tab and choose the Indicate on Drawing button. If you have completed floor information on the Site Information tab, the system will automatically limit the list of drawings to the location you entered. For information, see Indicating Incident Location on a Floor Plan Drawing
