Creating a View of a Shared Central Model for Lifecycle Management

Some sites will use a view into a shared central Revit model for facility management. Using a view has the advantage that the facility management view is updated in lock step with the rest of the architectural model.

To create such a view for each level:

1. Copy View. Select a view of that has the correct data, such as room data. Right-click and select Duplicate view. Name the view appropriately for its asset type (for example, “Level 1 – Rooms”).
2. Number and Edit View. Use the Archibus asset commands to catalog and refine the lifecycle data per the BIM Modeler procedures. See Getting Existing BIM Parameter Data into Archibus Validated Fields and Adding Existing BIM Parameter Data to Archibus.
