Archibus and Serraview Integration

Story 2: Operational Considerations
(Export Serraview Data to Archibus)

Note these special requirements and precautions for a smooth integration.

Floor Plans

For Serraview drawings destined for Archibus, you must initially define layers.

Validation Issues

If a Serraview user edits data in Serraview that has been already been imported into Archibus and manually edited in Archibus to overcome validation issues, the changes done in Serraview may lead to new validation issues in Archibus.

For example:

  1. If an already imported room is assigned to a new space type in Serraview and on the next import into Archibus, that space type value is larger than the Archibus room category field size, than the new room category cannot be created in Archibus. Accordingly, the existing room record in Archibus will not be updated to the new room category.
  2. If an already imported employee is assigned in Serraview to a new location that will not pass the validation on the next import in Archibus, then the new location will not be imported into Archibus and the employee's location in Archibus will be cleared.

To prevent these import issues, customers need to follow data entering and cleaning best practices that accommodate both systems. For example, the space types entered in Serraview should not have larger values than the Archibus room category field size.
