Edit the Language Strings Table
From the Edit Language Strings Table task, you can edit the lang_strings table. This table has the list of translatable strings that appear in the translatable tables in the project database. See Localization Tables.
From this view, you can:
- Restrict to show only specific string types.
- Restrict to show translated strings that are too long, that is, Navigators entries that are 128 characters or more.
- Edit String translations.
This task view includes the Data Transfer Status field that helps you track the strings that have been read in. See About the Data Transfer Status Field.
To edit string translations
- Select the System / Localization Manager / Edit Language Strings Table task.
- Select the target language from the Language list. See About the Language Selection.
- To restrict by type of string, select a string type from the list.
- Optionally, select to view strings that are too long, that is, Navigator entries that are 128 characters or more.
- Click Show.
The Nav & Table Strings - Translate section shows the translatable strings using any restriction you set.
- To restrict the view by any column header, use the smart search filter. For example, you can search for newly inserted (Inserted) or updated (Updated) strings by entering a value for the Data Transfer field on the smart search console.
- To edit a string, click on it.
The Nav & Table Strings - Translate dialog appears.
- Enter a translation in the Translated Strings field, and click Save. You can also edit a translation that has already been entered.
