Approve a Move (Legacy)

Note: Beginning with Archibus V.24.1, the tasks for approving moves were removed, as the Move Console provides the same functionality from a consolidated console that enables you to work with both individual and group moves. See Legacy Move Coordinator Tasks. This help topic is for those sites that prefer to work with the legacy Approve Move tasks. For information on approving moves from a URL or the Move Console, see Approval Manager. For information on using the Move Console, see Approve a Move (Move Console).

If you are an approving manager for a move, your approval is required before a move can be issued by the move coordinator. You will receive an email when your approval is required. You can approve individual moves and group moves.

A move may require approval from multiple approving managers before the move is approved. After ALL approving managers have approved a move, the move status is changed to Approved. At this point, an email notification is sent to the department contact and move requestor to notify them of the move's approval. For individual moves, the move coordinator is sent an email notification. For group moves, the project manager is sent an email notification.

Note that a move coordinator can choose to auto-approve a move. In this case, the system does not route it for approval.

To approve a move:

  1. Select the Space / Moves / Move Coordinator / Approve Moves or Move Coordinator / Approve Group Moves task. Or, click the URL in the email notification that you receive.
  2. From the Approve Moves page, select the move that you want to review from the Moves Routed for Approval list.
  3. Review the move.
  4. Add Comments as necessary.
  5. Click the Approve option to approve the move. Or, click the Reject button to reject the move.
