asset text
The text shown within an asset symbol and displaying information about the asset that is stored in the corresponding record. Asset text is stored on the asset text layer. For each asset type, the Archibus Asset Types table defines such asset text properties as:
- size
- justification
- position
- whether the asset text is displayed in a box
Asset text pertains to only the text that appears in the AutoCAD DWG file itself. The setting does not affect the text labels that appear in Web Central in the drawing control or in paginated reports, as the program generates these text labels dynamically.
Although the Archibus Asset Types table stores the default asset text conventions for each type of asset, once created, each asset symbol stores the settings controlling its particular asset text. You can move and place asset text using the AutoCAD grip edit and move commands.
You can set asset text height using Asset Text / Set Height command in Smart Client Extension for AutoCAD.
You set the asset text fields and their display order using Smart Client's System / CAD and BIM Manager / Edit Asset Text Fields task.
