A party that generates waste. If the waste is hazardous, the party typically registers with the EPA (or other regulating authority) for permission to generate hazardous waste. The license granted to the waste generator may define the waste generator as a small quantity generator (SQG) or a large quantity generator (LQG) depending upon how much waste they produce in a month and how many days they accumulate this waste on site.
