Maintenance mobile app

Maintenance Mobile App: Overview

Craftspersons and maintenance managers spend the majority of their time in the field at job sites yet still need to update Archibus maintenance system with the progress of work and route work through the Archibus system. While at job sites, supervisors and craftspersons will find it convenient to access and update the Archibus maintenance system directly from their smart phone or other mobile device using the Archibus Maintenance mobile app.

Note: Once craftspersons and supervisors upload the maintenance data to the Archibus system on the server, the Archibus Corrective Maintenance application, Preventive Maintenance application, and Maintenance SaaS module work with this data based on the defined workflow. Therefore, your site should have a license for one of these programs if supervisors and craftspersons will be using the Maintenance mobile app in the field.

Note: The following actions require an active network connection:
-- attaching a redlined drawing
-- working with linked work requests
-- working with SLAs that have return steps
-- working with certain checklist actions

When working with the Maintenance mobile app, you will find that it has an intuitive, streamlined interface and messages to walk users through its use. The typical users are:

Craftspersons

Craftspersons in the field find it convenient to review their work queue directly from their mobile phone. Once on the job, they can update the job with details from the field, such as the parts that they used, the hours spent on the job, any additional problems they encountered, and so forth. When they complete the job, they upload the data entered on the mobile device to the Archibus system on the server.

For information, see Maintenance mobile app: craftspersons.

Note: Beginning with V.26.3, craftspersons can also use the OnSite mobile app for accessing and updating work requests while in the field.

Supervisors

With the Maintenance mobile app, supervisors can keep the maintenance process flowing while they are in the field, attending meetings, traveling from place to place, meeting with craftspeople in the field, meeting with service providers and vendors in the field, and performing their own maintenance work. With the Maintenance mobile app they can review, approve, estimate, schedule, issue, monitor, and complete work requests directly from their mobile devices

For information, see Maintenance mobile app: supervisors.

General staff reporting maintenance issues

Additionally, other personnel who encounter issues in the field can report these issues using the Maintenance mobile app. These users will use the Create Work Requests screen to report a maintenance issue, in the same way that a craftsperson does. When they sync their device to upload the request, the system will route the work to immediate execution or approval, depending on defined procedures at the site.

As another option, occasional users can report maintenance issues that they encounter using Archibus Workplace or the Workplace Services Portal mobile app (if they have a license).

Facility managers

Facility managers establish the background data and set up the Maintenance mobile app. See Maintenance Mobile App: Facility Manager Tasks.
