work request

A work request is a request for maintenance or repair work. Work requests document such information as the work to do, its location, its urgency, and who requested it. Work requests are grouped together in work orders.

In Archibus, work requests can originate in several ways. They can be generated:

• when users request maintenance work through a service request
• when users request maintenance-related service through Archibus Workplace or the Workplace Services Portal mobile app
• when craftspersons and maintenance personnel request maintenance work through the Maintenance mobile app or Maintenance tasks
• automatically based on schedules you define for required preventive maintenance work
• from actions of other Archibus applications, such as Moves, Projects, Condition Assessment, Compliance, and Sustainability Assessment.

Throughout its life, a work request has a status, such as Requested, Rejected, Assigned to Work Order, or Canceled.
