recurring reservation

A reservation for a room, a room and resource, or resource only that occurs on a pattern such as: every Monday, every 15th day of the month, annually, and so on. You specify the recurrence pattern and either a stop date or number of times for the event.

A recurring reservation generates a separate reservation for each occurrence. If you edit a reservation that is part of a recurring reservation, you have the choice of editing the entire series or the individual occurrence.

When creating recurring reservations, it is possible to configure the program such that it generates a reservation that conflicts with an existing reservation. In this case, you manage the conflict with the Resolve Conflicts screen of the Reservations Calendar Console.

You define the recurring pattern using the following form:

Note that you can create a daily recurring reservation that spans multiple consecutive days, such as a meeting that meets every day from 9:00 to 5:00 for one week. This differs from a continuous reservation because continuous reservations occupy all 24 hours of the intermediate days and are treated as one reservation. In this example of a recurring reservation, five separate reservations are created and each ends at 5:00, meaning that the room can be reserved after that time; this is not possible with a continuous reservation.
