Defining Footprint Scenarios
Before entering consumption data for a building, you define footprint scenarios that you then associate with a building and a calculation year.
Defining footprint scenarios enables you to create hypothetical scenarios to perform 'what-if' analysis, for example, by entering different consumption values and seeing how this effects overall emissions. You can also define a benchmark scenario that describes your target goal for emissions, and then compare your actual emissions to this benchmark scenario. Or, you can create different scenarios to satisfy different regulatory requirements and models. You can then calculate and compare the footprints for buildings for a given year using scenarios that reference these different protocol versions.
To define footprint scenarios:
- Select Carbon Footprint - Track/Define Footprint Scenarios.
The Define Footprint Scenarios form appears.
- Click Add New.
- In the Scenario panel, enter the following:
Scenario Code: Enter a unique identifier for this scenario.
Description: Enter a description to identify this scenario. For example, enter the purpose of this scenario.
- Click Save.
