Manage Request Types

Note: If you implementing Archibus Workplace, use the Create Service Catalog task, which has additional fields required for requests made in Workplace.

To create, modify, and delete request types,select one of the following tasks.

Enter the properties of the Service Request Type

In the top panel, you can enter basic parameter of the request type. In the lower panel you can specify which panels or fields display to the user when the user if completing requests of this type.

Field Description
Request Type Enter a unique identifier for the type of request. It will be stored with the prefix SERVICE DESK- .
Description Enter a description of the SLA.
Use Questionnaire? Set this option if you want to include a questionnaire. You will then define the questionnaire on the view's Questionnaire tab. See Including a Questionnaire for a Request Type.
Group Name A security group for whom this Request Type is available. If this field is not completed, the request type is available to all security groups. You can make a request type available to only one security group; you cannot enter multiple security groups.
Cost Category  
Location If requests of this type will be related to a location, you will want these fields to display so that the requestor can enter the location requiring work.
Equipment If the request could pertain to equipment, you will want the requestor to specify this by completing equipment fields. For a request type such as copy service, you will not need the user to complete equipment information, and these fields can be hidden.
Documents Choose this option if you want the requestor to have the possibility to upload additional documents with requests of this type.
Date and Time Required Choose this option if you want to allow the requestor to specify a specific date and time by which the service is needed.

Click the Save button to confirm your settings.

If you select to include a questionnaire and you are not defining a Service Desk-Maintenance request, you will move to the Questionnaires tab. See Including a Questionnaire for a Request Type.
