Routing a Project Request for Approval

After reviewing a project request, you route the request for approval. You route a project request to one or more approving managers.

To route a project request for approval:

  1. From Capital Budgeting or Project Planning, select the Approve / Route Projects for Approval task.

    From Commissioning, select the Planning / Route Projects for Funding Approval task.

  2. Use the Filter console to specify which project requests you want to route. Click the Show button.
    The project requests that fall within your restriction criteria are displayed.
  3. Select the project request that you want to route for approval from the Requested Projects list.
    The Route for Approval pane shows the lists to select Approving Managers. The Project Details panel shows details for the project for your review.
  4. Select a manager from the Approving Manager 1 field, which is required. You also have the option to specify additional approving managers.
  5. Click the Route for Approval button.
    An email notification is sent to each approving manager you specify. In addition, an email notification is sent to the project requestor and the department contact.

Note: Once a project is routed for approval, you can no longer edit it using the Request / Edit My Projects task.
