Approve a Project Request

If you are an approving manager for a project, your approval is required in order for the status of the project request to change to Approved. You will receive an email when your approval is required.

A project request may require approval from multiple approving managers before the request is approved. After ALL approving managers have approved a request, the status is changed to Approved. At this point, an email notification is sent to the department contact, project requestor, and project manager to notify them of the project request's approval.

To approve a project request:

  1. Click the URL in the email notification to go to the Approve Project Requests task in Web Central. Or, do one of the following:

From Projects or Capital Budgeting, select the Approve / Approve Project Requests task.

From Commissioning, select Planning / Approve Project Funding Request.

  2. If needed, use the Filter console to restrict the list of project requests. Click the Show button.

The project requests that fall within your restriction criteria are displayed.
  3. Select the project request that you want to review from the Projects Routed for Approval list.

The Approve Project Requests and the Project Details panels appear.
  4. Review the request.
  5. In the Approve Project Requests panel, add Comments as necessary.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • To reject the request, click Reject.
    • To approve the request, click Approve.

To view the approved projects funding per year, from Capital Budgeting or Projects, select the Approve / View Approved Projects Funding by Year task.

After a request is approved or rejected, email notification is sent to the project requestor, department contact, and project manager.
