Define Application Parameters for Waste Reports
The Waste application includes reports with color-coded alerts that warn of certain critical conditions, such as the number of days that hazardous waste has been accumulating at a storage area beyond the permitted number of days.
The Waste application uses application parameters to define the time frame or volume limits that your regulations require for different storage circumstances. These parameters provide the values that are the basis for the color coding shown as alerts in reports for these waste conditions.
These parameters provide a flexible tool to enable you to set the parameters to reflect the limits imposed by the regulatory agencies that stipulate rules for storing, and disposing of your hazardous waste. To facilitate data entry, the program provides default values for typical requirements that you can customize as needed.
Note: If you change the value for these Waste application parameters, to have the change take effect, you should reload the parameters (or ask your Archibus System Administrator to do so for you). This is done using the System / Archibus Administrator - Application Configuration / Configure Application Parameters task, and then running the Reload All Parameters action.
The following are the application parameters used by the Waste application:
Application Parameter | Description | Default Value | Report and Alert Color |
---|---|---|---|
These parameters define a regulatory time frame or volume limit that is the basis for creating color coding | |||
haz_days_large_gen |
Hazardous Storage Days Limit for Large Quantity Generator: For large-quantity waste generators, indicates the maximum number of days of storage permitted after which an alert is shown. The number of days of storage is calculated based on the Date Start entered for the waste. |
90 days | Hazardous Waste Storage (red alert) |
haz_days_small_gen |
Hazardous Storage Days Limit for Small Quantity Generator For small-quantity waste generators, indicates the maximum number of days of storage permitted after which an alert is shown. The number of days of storage is calculated based on the Date Start entered for the waste. |
180 days | Hazardous Waste Storage (red alert) |
haz_days_na_gen |
Hazardous Storage Days Limit when there’s no generator, or it doesn’t have a type For situations when the waste generator is not indicated or if its type is N/A (instead of large or small quantity generator), this parameter indicates the maximum number of days of storage permitted after which an alert is shown. The number of days of storage is calculated based on the Date Start entered for the waste. Note: The initial default value will be 0 days, so until this value is modified, the report always shows these records in red. If you want to avoid the red color for these records, set this value with a very high value. |
0 days | Hazardous Waste Storage (red alert) |
haz_days_deadline |
Hazardous Storage Days Deadline Indicates the number of days before the maximum number of days permitted to store a hazardous waste to show an alert. The storage deadline uses the Date Start for the earliest quantity of waste added to the container/tank/location. The number of days from the Date Start used to determine the deadline depends on whether the waste generator is a Small Quantity, Large Quantity, or N/A generator type. These number of days are the values entered in the haz_days_large_gen, haz_days_small_gen, or haz_days_na_gen parameters. |
15 days | Hazardous Waste Storage (orange alert) |
rec_ship_dis_days |
Recently Shipped/Discharged Number of Days Defines the number of days ago that waste was shipped or discharged that is used to determine if the waste is included in the Recently Shipped/Discharged report. |
90 days | Recently Shipped/Discharged Waste |
manifest_days_call_large_gen |
Manifest Number of Days before Calling a Large Generator Indicates the number of days after the hazardous waste shipment date by which the waste recipient should have returned a signed manifest to a large waste generator. If the manifest is not returned by this date, then the generator must call the waste recipient and request the manifest that is due. |
35 Days |
Track Waste Manifest Used in the following alerts: red alert when the number of days specified in this parameter has passed and the manifest has not been received, and no contact has been made. orange alert if contact was made before this date is reached yellow alerts warn that this deadline is approaching soon, using the manifest_deadline_warning_pct to determine when a yellow alert should be issued. |
manifest_days_call_small_gen |
Manifest Number of Days before Calling a Small Generator Indicates the number of days after the hazardous waste shipment date by which the waste recipient should have returned a signed manifest to a small generator. If the manifest is not returned by this date, then the generator must call the waste recipient and request the manifest that is due. |
35 days |
Track Waste Manifests Used in the following alerts: red alert when the number of days specified in this parameter has passed and the manifest has not been received, and no contact has been made. orange alert if contact was made before this date is reached yellow alerts warn that this deadline is approaching soon, using the manifest_deadline_warning_pct to determine when a yellow alert should be issued. |
manifest_days_call_na_gen |
Manifest Number of Days before Calling a Generator which doesn’t have a type Indicates the number of days after the hazardous waste shipment date by which the waste recipient should have returned a signed manifest to a generator having the type N/A (instead of large or small quantity waste generator). If the manifest is not returned by this date, then the generator must call the waste recipient and request the manifest that is due. |
35 days |
Track Waste Manifests Used in the following alerts: red alert when the number of days specified in this parameter has passed and the manifest has not been received, and no contact has been made. orange alert if contact was made before this date is reached yellow alerts warn that this deadline is approaching soon, using the manifest_deadline_warning_pct to determine when a yellow alert should be issued. |
manifest_days_exc_large_gen |
Manifest Number of Days before Generating an Exception Report for a Large Generator Indicates the number of days after a hazardous waste shipment date by which a large generator must file an exception report if a signed manifest was not returned by a transfer, storage, or disposal facility. |
45 days | Track Waste Manifests (red alert) |
manifest_days_exc_small_gen |
Manifest Number of Days before Generating an Exception Report for a Small Generator Indicates the number of days after a hazardous waste shipment date by which a small generator must file an exception report if a signed manifest was not returned by a transfer, storage, or disposal facility. |
60 days | Track Waste Manifests (red alert) |
manifest_days_exc_na_gen |
Manifest Number of Days before Generating an Exception Report for a Generator which doesn’t have a type Indicates the number of days after a hazardous waste shipment date by which a generator whose type is N/A (instead of large or small quantity waste generator) must file an exception report if a signed manifest was not returned by a transfer, storage, or disposal facility. |
60 days | Track Waste Manifests (red alert) |
manifest_deadline_warning_pct |
Manifest Deadline Warning Percentage Indicates a percentage for the number of days after the hazardous waste shipment date by which the waste recipient should have returned a signed manifest. This parameter is used to warn users that a deadline is approaching soon. A yellow alert also indicates that the contact with the waste processing facility has not yet been made. The manifest_days_call_large_gen, manifest_days_call_large_small, and manifest_days_call_na_gen parameters are used to determine the deadline. |
75% | Track Waste Manifests (yellow alert) |
The following parameters support satellite waste accumulation regulations. | |||
satellite_days_accum_limit |
Satellite Accumulation Days Limit Indicates the number of days from the time waste first enters the container (based on the waste's Date Start) before which a satellite accumulation container must be emptied or moved to a waste storage location. |
365 days | Hazardous Waste Accumulation (red alert) |
satellite_volume_limit |
Satellite Accumulation Volume Limit Indicates the maximum number of gallons that a satellite accumulation container can store before it must be emptied or moved to a waste storage location. Note: This parameter sets satellite accumulation quantity restrictions in units of gallons. If you record your accumulation in units of mass or volume different than gallons, the Hazardous Waste Accumulation Report will not display warnings based on the mass quantity limit. However, because the application does allow edits to the Accumulated records, once an accumulation container becomes full, you can edit the record and change the unit type, units, and quantity to the full-volume amount for the container. This will result in the accumulation being shown with the appropriate warning. |
55 gallons | Hazardous Waste Accumulation (red alert) |
satellite_days_full_limit |
Satellite Accumulation Full Days Limit Indicates the maximum number of days accumulated waste may legally remain at a satellite accumulation location once the volume of waste there reaches the limit set in the satellite_volume_limit application parameter. |
3 days | Hazardous Waste Accumulation (red alert) |
satellite_days_deadline |
Satellite Accumulation Days Deadline Indicates the number of days before the hazardous waste accumulation limit at which the application will warn users of the approaching deadline by highlighting records in reports. The hazardous waste accumulation limit is determined by the number of days entered in the satellite_days_accum_limit parameter. |
15 days | Hazardous Waste Accumulation (orange alert) |
