QR code
An abbreviation of Quick Response Code, a QR Code is a type of two-dimensional barcode. A QR code uses four standardized encoding modes (numeric, alphanumeric, byte/binary, and kanji) to store data efficiently. It consists of black squares arranged in a square grid on a white background, which can be read by an imaging device such as a camera.
QR codes that hold an item's identifying key value can be adhered to equipment items and rooms. Users can then scan these codes with their phones to capture the item's identifying value.
Archibus views such as Define Locations and Define Equipment provide the ability to print out the Equipment Code values and room identifying values as QR code labels, which can be adhered to equipment items and posted in rooms.
