Entering Data for Purchased Material

Use the Purchased Materials tab to estimate life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions from purchasing and/or manufacturing materials with varying degrees of post-consumer recycled content.

To enter data for purchased material:

  1. Select Carbon Footprint - Track / Enter Building Footprint Data.
  2. From the Building Footprints panel, select the building and calculation year for which you are entering consumption data.
  3. Select the Indirect Emissions (Scope 3) tab.
  4. Select the Purchased Material tab.
  5. Enter the following required information:

    Material: Select the type of material for which you want to calculate emissions.

    Amount Purchased: Enter the amount of this material purchased during the calculation year.

    Amount Purchased (Units): Select the units used to measure the purchased material.

    Average Recycled Content (%): Enter the average percentage of recycled content used in the material.

  6. Click Save.

    The application calculates greenhouse gas emissions for this source, and displays the emissions in the upper Footprints panel.
