Entering Electrical Consumption Data for Off-Site Servers

Use the Off-Site Servers tab to enter electrical consumption data for your servers located in data centers.

To calculate emissions for Off-Site Servers, the application uses the emission factor from the Energy Grid subregions table to convert the energy values entered for off-site servers use into CO2 equivalent.

To enter data for off-site servers:

  1. Select Carbon Footprint - Track / Enter Building Footprint Data.
  2. From the Building Footprints panel, select the building and calculation year for which you are entering consumption data.
  3. Select the Indirect Emissions (Scope 3) tab.
  4. Select the Off-Site Servers tab.
  5. In the Off-Site Computer Servers Footprints panel, click Add New.
  6. In the Off-Site Computer Servers Source panel, enter the following required information:

    Description: Enter a description of the off-site server location.

    Electricity Consumption of Off-Site Servers: Enter the amount of electricity used in a year by this off-site server location.

    Electricity Consumption Units: Enter the units used to measure the electricity consumption.

  7. Click Save.

    The application calculates greenhouse gas emissions for this source, and displays the emissions in the upper Footprints panel.
