space standard
A unit for specifying, forecasting, and allocating space requirements. For example, a Manager space standard requires 200 square feet, a File Room space standard requires 25 square feet, a Conference Room space standard requires 900 square feet, a headcount space standard requires 100 square feet per person. Space standards are stored in the Room Standards table.
Archibus uses the following space standards:
- Headcount – A description of the required area and costs per employee, as defined in the PEOPLE record of the Room Standards table. The PEOPLE record is automatically included in the Archibus database; you can adjust the default values to reflect practices at your site.
- Area – A description of 1 square foot or 1 square meter, including its cost, as defined by the SQFT and SQM records of the Room Standards table. The SQFT and SQM records are automatically included in the Archibus database; you can adjust the default values to reflect practices at your site.
- Room Standard – A description of each type of room, including its size and cost. Records in the Room Standards table describing the room types are used in other Archibus applications.
