transaction (US Federal Property Registry application)

In the US Federal Property Registry application, transactions store proposed entries or updates for government property. In the US Federal Property Registry application, each time you enter data for a real property asset, the entry is stored as a data transaction. The Business Process Owner assigned to the role "Government RPLM Inventory Process Owner" must approve a transaction before its data is posted. Transactions help you to track all requests for changes to real property data, and to distinguish data entry errors (that are not approved) from valid data.

Transactions are assigned a unique Transaction Code to identify them, a Transaction Type that shows whether the data is for a new property or an update to an existing property record, and a Status that shows whether or not the transaction has been approved and posted.

The information stored for a data transaction includes the date and time the entry was made, the name of the user who entered the data, the status of the transaction, and the entries made. When a transaction is approved, the date and time of the approval or rejection, and the user who made the approval or rejection are also stored.
