hazard classification category

A Hazard Classification Category is a specific type of Hazard Class as defined in a Hazard Classification system. For example, the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals includes Physical Hazards as one of its classes. The Physical Hazards Class then has multiple categories that further define hazard materials, such as Flammable liquids Category 1, or Explosives Div 1.1. These categories have warning labels assigned to them to communicate their risk.
