salvage value
The estimated value of an asset at the end of its expected useful lifetime. The value is based on an estimate of the asset's value, or the value can be determined by a regulatory body, such as the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
For example, a $1000 new printer might have an expected salvage value of $200 after 8 years (the end of its useful life).
After an asset is completely depreciated, its current value equals its salvage value.
