A rack is a shelving system in telecom closets and equipment rooms on which you mount telecom devices or plates holding standalone ports. Use racks to further refine a telecom device’s location; that is, racks specify a device’s location within a room. Because racks are located within rooms, racks are identified by combining the values of the Building Code, Floor Code, Room Code, and Rack Code fields.
