Defining Part Storage Locations
Use the Define Part Storage Locations task to define and edit the storage locations for parts. You can then assign these storage locations to parts, so that you can track parts by their location and transfer parts to the location where they are needed.
A part storage location can represent any physical type of storage location, such as a warehouse, a stock room, a storage cart, or even a craftsperson’s vehicle.
Optionally, part storage locations can be associated with a building and room, or an equipment asset.
Equipment | You can enter a Mobile Asset Code for a mobile storage unit to associate it with an Equipment Code. The Mobile Asset Code links the location to a piece of equipment that acts as a storage location, such as a vehicle or cart. Linking a mobile storage unit to an Equipment Code enables you to create work requests for repairs or preventive maintenance for the unit, and to track it as equipment | |
