Review Design Submissions

Using the Review Design Submissions task, commissioning agents and design professionals can review design submissions and can add new action items for design submissions to track the document's progress from submission to approval. Actions for design submissions can be entered with a percentage in the Action Title that indicates the milestone percentage (degree of completeness) for this draft of the design submission. These percentages can be used to represent critical milestones in your approval process.

The following describes an example workflow for design submission review and approval:

From the Review Design Submissions task, you can:

Reviewing Design Submissions

To review design submissions:

  1. Select the Design / Review Design Submissions task.

The Review Design Submissions pane shows all actions for commissioning projects that have an Action Type of CX - Design Submissions, and that have an action attached.

  2. If needed, you can filter by location, work package, Project Manager, or specific project. Enter the criteria in the Filter console, and click Show.
  3. To review documents for a particular project, select the project from the Select Commissioning Project pane.
  4. In the Review Design Submissions pane, select the name of the document in the Document column.
  5. A message appears asking you to select whether to open the document, or to save it to your computer.
  6. If needed, you can save the document to your computer, and make revisions. If these revisions represent a new milestone status, you can create a new action for the design submission, using the Action Type CX - Design Submission, and indicating in the Action Title the level of completeness for this design submission. You can attach the revised document to this new action by using the Check In New Version button. See Adding Actions with Documents Attached and Using the Document Management System.
