Sustainability & Risk / Hazard Abatement / Define Hazards and Samples
CAD User: Overview
As a CAD specialist, you may be tasked with:
- depicting in CAD floor plan drawings the various areas of your facility that have hazmat issues
- depicting in CAD floor plan drawings areas from which you collect samples for hazardous substance testing.
Once these areas are depicted in CAD drawings, you can assign them intelligence and connect them to database records so that they become asset symbols.
As a CAD user, you will run these tasks to depict these areas:
These tasks are located on the Smart Client Navigator at:
- Sustainability & Risk / Hazard Abatement / Define Hazards and Samples
Getting Started with Floor Plan Drawings
Typically, before you depict hazmat areas and sample collection areas in CAD drawings and connect these areas to database records, others at your site have developed basic floor plan drawings that show the service areas, vertical penetration areas, and rooms.
If this is not the case at your site, you can develop floor plan drawings and depict your room boundaries using the following process on the Smart Client's Navigator:
- Sustainability & Risk / Hazard Abatement /Background Data - Facilities / Draw Rooms
For information on developing room asset symbols, refer to the topics of Space Inventory / CAD User.
