Archibus Smart Client Extension for Revit

Live Business Processes and COBIE

The National Institute of Building Standards publishes the COBIE standard for handoff data for buildings. COBIE depends on extract files or spreadsheets to transfer data. And, if you like, you can use the Archibus Connectors to import COBIE data directly.

However, if you prefer, Archibus allows you to share all handoff data between stakeholders over the Web in a centrally coordinated database. In terms of documents and data, in Archibus you work with the same handoff data as you would if you used the COBIE standard. In this way, you don't have to create, distribute, and collate COBIE spreadsheets from multiple vendors. Also in this way, a vendor can make a change to the data under their control directly in the Web form. For instance, if a contractor needs to upload a new specification for an equipment item, or to record the items' actual serial number, they can do so directly -- without needing someone to manually retype the COBIE data from the spreadsheet into a Revit model.

You can still export COBIE data from Archibus at any point if you want the data in a vendor-neutral format.
