Query Table

Command: AFM_QRYTABLE

How to access this command: From the Ribbon, select Utilities / Tools / Query Table, or run the command from the command line.

Purpose: Use this command to examine database values of selected asset symbols of the same asset type and optionally display these values on the drawing.

Overview

Invoke the Query Table command, select a set of room asset symbols, and the command displays, in the Query Table dialog box, the records in the Rooms asset table that link to the selected asset symbols. You can vertically and horizontally scroll the dialog box to review the data. The default view's field visibility settings determines the fields that the Query Table command presents. Use the Fields option to change the field visibility and set the exact set of fields from the Rooms table that you want to display. When through, press the OK button to close the dialog box.

The below image shows the results of selecting seven room asset symbols in the HQ19 sample drawing and using the Fields option to add the Occupancy Count and Room Area fields to include in the table.

You may want to display the data values of the selected records on the drawing as a legend. In this case, set the Text Height for the legend and enter the x and y coordinates of the top left corner of the legend box. Or, use the Pick Legend Location button to choose a point in the drawing for the top left corner of the legend box.

Selecting Asset Symbols

The Query Table command displays records from only one asset table at a time; therefore, if your selection set contains more than one type of asset symbol, the Query Table command displays the records for the asset type of the first asset symbol it encounters in the selection set. For example, if your selection set contains room, equipment, and furniture asset symbols, and the first asset symbol that the command encounters is a room asset symbol, the Query Table dialog displays the records linked to the selected room asset symbols, and ignores the selected equipment and furniture asset symbols.

If you want to be certain of the records that the Query Table command presents, include only asset symbols of the same asset type in your selection set.
