Block Drawings: Overview

With Archibus, you represent building items such as furniture, office equipment, telecommunications equipment, jacks, and patch panels with blocks—depictions of items that are stored in their own CAD drawing files.

Inserting blocks is a powerful and important feature because blocks save drawing time and provide consistency to your drawings. For example, once you define a block representing a particular item, say a copier, you can add a reference to this block to multiple spots in your floor plan drawing and within multiple floor plan drawings. Moreover, users may find that they don't even need to develop their own blocks; they can use the block libraries that ship with Archibus.
