Common Area (Concept)

When an area is denoted as common, it may be prorated among the departments that have access to it. Each department may then be charged for the actual area it occupies, plus a proportional percentage of the common area.

You can denote service areas, groups, rooms, and remaining areas as common areas by setting their Prorate fields to either FLOOR, BUILDING, or SITE, depending on if their costs should be distributed among the departments on the floor, the departments in the building, or the departments of the entire site.
