Projects Map

The Monitor process includes a Projects Map task. The Projects Map report displays drawings that contain action data for the dates that you specify.

To display a projects map

  1. In the Filter console, set the restriction for the project map:
    1. Select a date range by selecting the years, a certain number of days ahead, or all days in the Filter console.
    2. Select the location or organization requesting the project, and program or project information.
    3. From the Status field, select All to see projects having all statuses, select In Planning to see projects that are Approved or Approved - In Design, or select In Execution to see projects that are Issued-In Progress or Issued On-Hold.
    4. Click the Show button.

A list of drawings that match your specifications is displayed.

  2. Select the drawing name in the Action Items by Drawing list.
The drawing is displayed and action items for the dates/days you specified are highlighted in the drawing.
  3. Click on the polyline (outside edge) of a highlighted area in the drawing.
A detail view is displayed below the drawing for the building, room, or action item that you selected.

To display action items in the Projects Map

In the Project Map, in order to see action items by room, you must associate your action items with a room in the Extension for AutoCAD and then publish the asset data to enterprise graphics.

  1. Start the Extension and open the Archibus project and drawing for the action items you wish to display in the Projects Map.
  2. Use the Set Asset Layer command to change the current layer to activity_log / Action Items.
  3. Draw a polyline inside the room asset symbol for the action item. For example, draw a rectangular polyline inside the boundaries of room 107 to associate the action item with that room.
  4. Select the Archibus Attach to Record command and select the polyline you just created.
  5. In the Attach to Record dialog, select the Action Item you wish to display in the Projects Map and click OK.
  6. Save the drawing and run Publish Enterprise Graphics
  7. Copy the enterprise graphics to your project (e.g. to \projects\hq\enterprise-graphics\).
