Service Desk Steps Example 1

Define a new approval type that allows the approver to enter an account code.

Select the Manage Service Desk Steps task.

Note: The functionality for Approval step types is only available for Service Desk requests; it is not available for Corrective Maintenance requests.

Adding a Step

Click on the Add Step button on top of the Steps list panel to access the Edit tab page in which you can define the Workflow Step parameters

  1. Select the Service Desk application (AbBlgOpsHelpDesk)

  2. Select the Approval step type from the drop-down list.

  3. Enter the Approval Step name in the Workflow Step field.

  4. Specify fields to enter on approval

  5. Upon selecting the Approval step type, you will receive a list of all possible form fields that can be shown on the Approval form. Mark the check box in front of the Account Code field

  6. Note: At this point you have created the approval step with a form field for the approver to enter an account code. You now must finish your approval step by defining the location of your step in the workflow.

  7. Select the Basic Status from the drop-down list for which you are creating this new Approval step.

  8. Note : The Basic Status field is compulsory.

  9. If needed, select Basic Status After from the drop-down list

  10. Set Step Status Result and Step Status Rejected.

  11. If needed, enter a display order.

Save or cancel your form data by clicking the appropriate button to complete your Approval Step creation.
