Archibus domain
A Navigator grouping that addresses the problems of a certain area of facilities management by dividing the issues into a series of goals or applications, and providing tasks to work through these goals.
Archibus domains address facility management issues such as managing space, managing furniture and equipment, managing environmental issues and risk, and managing building operations.
Domains are defined in the afm_products
schema table.
As shown below, the non-SaaS Navigator presents the Archibus domains and their component applications, which in turn house processes and tasks.
In the Archibus SaaS offering, the modules are typically presented at the Navigator's root level; the domain level is not used unless you have more than 13 modules.
In some cases, many of the applications of a non-SaaS domain are presented as one entry at the application level of the SaaS Navigator. This is the case for Capital Projects. In the non-SaaS Navigator Capital Projects is a domain with four applications; in the SaaS Navigator (shown below), Capital Projects is at the application level and covers three of the four non-SaaS Capital Project applications (Capital Budgeting, Commissioning, and Projects); the fourth application, Condition Assessment, is its own entry at the application level.
